Road closed ahead…

Road Closed Ahead…

We are not at a point where travel to
Haiti is impossible. However, it is
especially hard these days to get around once you are there.
People we know who are on the ground in Haiti say they can not get
where they want to go. A variety of challenges are playing out, such as
political protesters blocking the streets, gas shortages and a bridge collapse
along a main route. It is causing schools, businesses and government
offices to close due to lack of safe transportation.
One friend could not go north of Port-au-Prince. Another friend could
not go south from Port-de-Paix (PdP) to catch a flight out of the country.
Lastly, our friend and co-worker Frantz mentioned that protesters in
many of Haiti’s larger cities are blocking roads, damaging or destroying
business and cars and harassing the police.
That said, it still appears to be somewhat safe for the average person.
Most of the violence is directed at the government. Nevertheless, since
the citizenry frequently uses random violence, towards their own neighborhoods,
to deliver their message of disapproval of the government, one
best carefully choose where and when they go.
For this reason, Seedtime is in no hurry to schedule our next trip to Haiti.
Frantz may be able to teach in the area around his home but venturing too
far could mean not getting home for awhile.
Your prayers are welcomed.

The focus in Haiti is on the billions of dollars unaccounted for by Haiti’s

government in a 10 year gas supply contract with Venezuela known as Petro Caribe.

The gas is now gone, the money is gone and the people do not see the benefit.

They want accountability.  The not-so-underlying topic…CORRUPTION.

Someone, somewhere, needs to address that.  And we do.  Seedtime addresses

that subject regularly. No surprise. You’ve read it here before.  “Honesty” is the

most preferred subject we teach in Haiti in our Bible study.  And we start the

discussion with the people, the individual that is, being honest.  (Lk 16:10, Jer 5:1)

If you like a Christian ministry that teaches the underlying issues that plague impoverished Haiti, pray about Seedtime.

Your prayers and financial help: keep us rolling in the field and you engaged in discipleship of God’s Word and not simply  sponsoring “things” to hand out
